FarSide Marketing Ltd is a 4PL (4th Party Logistics) specialising in commercial and modified off the shelf products for organisations in both public and private sectors.
Our expertise and experience comes from our sister company that has been designing, sourcing, producing and supplying a wide range of gift items to major High Street retailers for over 18 years.
FarSide Marketing manages a project right the way through from concept or briefing to delivery; out-sourcing the manufacture, packing, quality control and delivery. We are responsible for the finished product. This gives us great flexibility and control over quality, shipping and price. With contract terms extending more towards 3/5 years it is becoming more important to be sure that if situations change the quality and service level is maintained. Using a 4PL company gives our customers that security. It is our responsibility to ensure supply. If a factory experiences problems it is our problem to resolve it and maintain supply and quality.
Our involvement with Military clients has come about from Prime Suppliers not being able to meet surge requirements or, indeed, standard contract requirement. Consequently, we have a direct understanding of the importance of meeting military needs and have a proven record of excelling under “surge” conditions.
Case studies
- When the war in Iraq started the long term supplier of Field Cookers and Hexamine was unable to meet the demand. FarSide Marketing Ltd was approached by the British MoD and as a direct result of that meeting supplied the shortfall and subsequently won the reverse auction for the next contract giving the MoD a 60% saving on the previous MoD contractor.
- FarSide Marketing Ltd successfully packed 20,000 10 man ration packs in 9 days and 60,000 in 21 days that’s 600,000 packed rations due to the then main food supplier failing to meet the demand. The principal food supplier asked us to slow the packing down as they were unable to supply the components fast enough. Consequently, to ensure timely deliveries we prefer to supply and pack all components.
- FarSide Marketing Ltd currently has the contract to supply the Irish Army & Irish Special Forces with their complete 24hr ration packs. In January 2008 FarSide Marketing Ltd successful packed off 42,000 ration packs in under 10 days for the deployment of Irish troops on a NATO peace keeping exercise in Chad.
